Although your original install 'worked' - you have claimed that the agent software itself did not start correctly after a reboot - which to me is an indication that it did not 'work' - just the installer did. Then you uninstalled and attempted a re-install and get another error condition - however as Centos is not supported, there is no guarantee that the uninstall script will have put everything back to how you started which therefore might stop you from attempting the same re-install again.
As such the basic answer remains - you are attempting to use a piece of software in an environment it is not designed for and expecting the product and the install/uninstall scripts to work correctly.

Note: This step is followed until BE 12.5. From BE 2010 and later we get the setup file in the ISO download of the product.
Use said Linux system to install RALUS (Backup exec Linux agent) Gather up files into a tarball and move them to the QNAP. Untar the BE RALUS agent into those directories Alter QNAP system files to make the agent run. Test PART 1: CARVE OUT DISK FOR THE RALUS AGENT ON THE QNAP Log into the QNAP GUI and create a shared folder. Default settings.
Connect to the target host using a terminal session or Log On locally with super user, root, or administrator privileges. Extract the contents of the installation files that were downloaded in Step 1 using the following command Figure 1a below: Note: Do not extract the RALUS installer files on a Windows system and copy the resulting files to the Linux/Unix host. Doing so will cause difficult to diagnose installation errors. It is important to copy the.gz file to the Linux/Unix host and extract the files there as shown below. Note: This is a one step command to extract and untar the file.
